Biography

Fr. Gerald Bednar is a Native of Cleveland area

B. A., Government – University of Notre Dame (1968)

M.A., Government (Political Theory) – Georgetown University (1971)

J.D., Civil Law – University of Notre Dame (1974)

M. Div. – St. Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology (1983)

Ph. D., Contemporary Systematic Theology – Fordham University (1990)  

Ordained a priest for the Diocese of Cleveland in 1983

Currently Professor of Systematic Theology at St. Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology, a position he has held since 1990.  He also teaches philosophy courses for Borromeo Seminary of the Diocese of Cleveland through John Carroll University.

In addition to his full time appointment on the St. Mary Faculty, Fr. Bednar serves as Chair of the Board of Project Hope for the Homeless, as part of the Ecumenical Shelter Network in Lake County, OH, on which he has served since 1992.
